Jose Bazo is a contemporary Peruvian artist born in 1991, currently residing and working in London. Influenced by naturalist, impressionist, and baroque painting, his work reflects both everyday life and his surroundings, as well as philosophical compositions imbued with tones of sentimentality and melancholy that mirror his inner landscape.
He began his academic training at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he studied from 2014 to 2017, learning 19th-century painting techniques. After his academic studies, he actively sought mentorship from renowned painters with diverse schools of thought and technique, including Steven Assael, Casey Baugh, and Jeremy Lipking, who helped shape his personal style and approach.
Jose has participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Lima, Florence, London, and Connecticut. In London, he presented his work with the Royal Society of Oil Painters, while in the United States, his work has been recognized at the PleinAir Salon, semifinalist in both The Almenara Art Prize 2024 and 17th ARC Salon with his biggest achievement being to be included in the Lunar Codex -Polaris- archive, a cultural time capsule heading to the south pole of the moon as human heritage for the future.
